The goal of becoming the “Best Children’s Hospital” requires community support from individuals for research, for facilities and equipment, and to ensure that families can count on the best care for their children regardless of their financial capability. Philanthropy at Children’s Hospital and Regional Medical Center supports these three broad purposes.

A planned gift is a charitable contribution made after taking into consideration not only the philanthropic objectives to be achieved but also personal and family financial objectives. Through a planned gift, donors can leave a legacy of healing and hope that will ensure brighter, healthier futures for the many children who need help each year. In the process, donors may be able to:

  • simplify financial affairs
  • reduce or eliminate various types of taxation
  • improve cash flow
  • provide for loved ones
  • secure a stream of payments during retirement
  • diversify the portfolio of assets relied upon for income

Planned gifts include bequests in wills or trusts; life income plans; beneficiary designations; and other arrangements. For more detailed information, click on All Gifts at-a Glance.

We highly recommend reviewing Giving Wisely as a roadmap of planned giving choices, and the GiftTree® to design a planned gift. Donors can also request a personalized gift illustration.

It is important to consult one’s personal legal and financial advisors when planning a gift. In addition, Children’s Planned Giving Director is available to answer questions that may arise in the early stages of considering various options. Contact information is available at Meet Your Planned Giving Team.

Please read about The Guardians’ Circle, Children’s recognition program for supporters who have notified us of their planned and deferred gifts.

If a donor chooses to establish a planned gift for the benefit of Children’s, we would like the opportunity to say ‘thank you’, and include the donor’s name among our planned giving supporters. The Guardians’ Circle is our way of providing ongoing educational up-dates and recognition for planned gifts, regardless of the size. Please consider joining this special group of Children’s supporters.

Furthermore, the expertise of the highly regarded Seattle consulting firm, Planned Giving Services, Inc., is available at no cost to donors and their advisors when Children’s Hospital will be the beneficiary of a plan.
